Shearing Machines
Flying Dividing Shear: Used to cut TMT Bar as per Cooling Bed Length. Our Fly shears can cut up to a finishing speed of 22 mps.
Continuous Shear: Used to cut TMT Bar as per Cooling Bed Length at higher finishing speeds.
End Cutting Crop and Cobble Shear: These shears are used to cut the front end and tail end and for segment cutting in case of eventualities in hot rolling. They are controlled through a PLC system and give very near tolerance to the cropped length. They are start/stop type and driven using either a Direct DC motor or Flywheel mounted Pneumatic Clutch/Brake.
Rotary Shear: Rotary shears are cost-effective, used for cropping front, tail as well as to scrap pre quenched bars during any contingency. They are continuous rotating types and are generally used to trim hot-rolled bars at a comparatively lower speed.
Hot Saw and Cold Saw: Hot saws are used in hot rolling for cropping the structural section in the required length as well as for cropping front and rear ends. There are two kinds of hot saws – Horizontal shift type and static type
Helical Steel has designed shiftable as well as static types of cold shears. The cold saw provides exact cutting, whereby both open and closed types are available. They are available with a start and stop drive, handling structural sections and high alloy steels.

Automatic Cooling Bed
A rolling mill cooling bed is used for the uniform air cooling of the rolled materials (bars or profiles usually referred to as ‘bars’) and transport it in a phased manner from the entry side of the cooling bed to its discharge side. It transfers the bars one by one to the roller table, on which they are transported to the finishing section. The bed is provided with bar alignment.
We manufacture cooling beds ensuring constant standardization and high equipment quality. Every movement is used to straighten material.
1) Twin-Channel Bar Receiving Mechanism: We at Steefo Industries manufacture Twin Channels operated either by Hydraulic or by Electro-Mechanical Drive through DC Motors. The Flappers that we use are made from SG Iron Material, giving excellent wear resistance and long life.
2) 4-Channel Bar Receiving Mechanism (Pneumatic): This type of Bar Handling system is used for Rolling Mills with 2 Strand Billet Rolling.
3) Braking Slide/ Hydraulic Apron Type: This type of Bar Receiving mechanism is widely used for Merchant Mills producing both Sections and TMT Bar as well as Light Section Mill.
4) Rake Type Automatic Cooling Bed: Automatic rake type cooling beds are highly automated, ensuring transfer of material by one pitch for every rake movement.
